World Environment Day! (Part 1)

The 5th of June, as we all know, marks one of the most important dates of the modern day calender, the World Environment Day. Speaking of which, I am here writing this blogpost. A little late though, or wait, am I late? Yes. We all are! This brings me to the quote by sir Winston Churchill which goes like this: "The era of procrastination, of half-measures, of soothing and baffling expedients, of delays is coming to its close. In its place we are entering a period of consequences." Read the quote again & again, try and understand it. I will come back to it later. The mother nature, like every other mother, is a sacrificial one which loves and cares for its children, the life on this beautiful planet earth. It has been supplying with the elements of life for our survival since our very existence. But, I guess just like every child manages to hurt their parents nowadays in some way or the other, we have been carelessly hurting and killing mother nature slowly since our development as proper human beings! Though the use of the word 'slowly' has lost its significance now as we have done every sorts of damage to the environment and now a single wrongdoing leads to a chain of wrongdoings automatically as a result of our actions. For all the problems we have in our lives, this problem is the most significant one which however is the one least taken care of. This brings me to the quote by Sir Winston Churchill which he somewhat intuitively stated (in the early 1930s I guess). We sit back on our couches, have all sorts of luxurious items which manage to affect the environment quite directly. The equipments which were used luxury once have now become necessities due to their foul actions towards nature and hence affect more badly now. The global warming is increasing the levels of heat and cold every year. It seems that the mother nature is coming to an end slowly by our wrongdoings and its growing more fierce day by day. The global warming is caused due to the accumulation of greenhouse gases in the ozone layer which stops the sun-beams to pass the ozone layer once they are reflected back by the surface of the earth. So as a result, the temperature of the earth which was under regulation when just the right amount of heat was trapped inside the ozone layer is now increasing day by day. This temperature increase is resulting in disappearing of ice caps from mountains, glaciers which are source of fresh water used for drinking purposes in many places, big ice chunks in the Antarctic, North pole and Greenland. As a result, the sea level increases and the melting of ice is fastened in return. This is a continuous process now and are out of our hands. Now, as the seal level increases, the air belts over the oceans are affected which in turn affects the weather all over the globe. The natural calamities which now occur are thus more vicious and fierce and are all related to our contribution to the global warming. The rainfall is fierce due to evaporation by te fierce heat. Again, as the heat is non-forgiving, it also sucks out water from the soil which causes drought too. The levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) now increases and decrease more adversely than ever before. We now thus witness both summers and winters which are more punishing. This were our contributions in a nutshell which will bring our end earlier than expected! So? What do we do now? We can't do anything to stop this now. As stated earlier the era of procrastination & negligence while we could've kept things under control are gone. We can't do anything now but prolong the doomsday of apocalypse! Its the time, we face the consequences. So, prolonging is the only thing we can do. We all should play our little part which will give rise to bigger consequences undoubtedly. So, start taking measures from this moment and contribute to the environment daily (even though we start in a minor scale we have to do it). I don't know how much this will help but I am playing my part. And celebrate the World Environment Day for 365days a year! I hope that even a single person reads this post and starts taking two or three steps. I need it, you need it. Our future generations need it! Thank you. :)
